AFFORABLE HOUSING  

 

 

Ongoing population growth in Queensland over the last 25 years and more recently as a result of the mining boom has resulted in aIMG-20120307-00410_(2) shortage of infrastructure, land and housing throughout the region. As a result the cost of land and housing has been rising to the extent that housing is becoming increasingly unaffordable. Accordingly the State Government created the Urban Land Development Authority – ULDA to facilitate more affordable housing in Queensland through a range of initiatives. One such strategy is the Priority Home Buyer Initiative which is focused on assisting low to moderate income households enter into home ownership. It provides priority purchase opportunities for pre-qualified buyers on low to moderate household incomes.

 

 

The ULDA’s development at Blue Ridge Estate, Blackwater is one such initiative. ULDA aims to deliver to the market a steady supply of affordable housing to suit a wide range of lifestyles and budget and in doing so:

  • Trial a planning code for residential development that allows for housing diversity and the efficient use of land
  • Demonstrate housing innovation and the delivery of a diversity of housing and price points
  • Prove the commercial viability of innovative urban development solutions that are environmentally sustainable
  • Facilitate housing for special interest groups in the community (e.g. accessible housing and housing for low to moderate income households.

 

Infrabuild has been selected as a building partner by the Urban Land Development Authority – ULDA to deliver housing as part of the ULDA’s Priority Home Buyer Initiative..

Blue Ridge Estate   
                 

 

Blue Ridge Estate is a 9 hectare Master Planned Community located on Baumann Way within the mining Township of Blackwater. Civil Construction on Stage 1 of the project is expected to commence in April 2012 and be completed within 4.5 months (31 lots) followed immediately by Stage 2 which is expected to provide a further 27 lots by the end of 2012. The development is forecast to yield a total of 171+ lots and approx 200 dwellings on completion.

 

Infrabuild offers the right mix of qualifications, building and development experience to work in a collaborative partnership with the ULDA to exceed the goals and objectives of the Blackwater housing initiative.
